The active component of Hydrazide is Hydrochlorothiazide. It is primarily used to treat hypertension.

Hydrazide should be taken orally, with or without food, typically twice a day or as prescribed by your physician. It is advisable to refrain from taking Hydrazide within 4 hours before bedtime to minimize nighttime urination. If you have any inquiries regarding your dosing regimen, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Cholestyramine and colestipol may hinder the absorption of Hydrazide, so if you are on either of these medications, ensure they are taken at least 4 hours apart from Hydrazide.

The dosage is determined by your age, health condition, and how you respond to treatment. Your physician may initiate treatment with a low dose and gradually increase it. Adhere closely to your doctor’s directions. To maximize the benefits of Hydrazide, use it consistently. Try to take it at the same times daily to help remember. Continuing this medication is crucial, even if you feel fine, as most individuals with high blood pressure do not exhibit symptoms. It might take several weeks to experience the full effects of Hydrazide. Avoid discontinuing this medication without consulting your doctor.

Discontinuing Hydrazide abruptly can exacerbate certain conditions. Your doctor may need to reduce your dosage gradually. Inform your physician if your condition deteriorates (for instance, if your regular blood pressure readings rise).

Adjusting to the medication may lead to side effects such as headache, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain. You might also notice decreased sexual function or heightened sensitivity to sunlight. If any of these effects persist or worsen, promptly contact your doctor or pharmacist. To minimize the chance of dizziness, stand up slowly from a sitting or lying position.

Notify your doctor immediately if you encounter any rare but serious side effects, including extreme fatigue, joint pain/swelling, a rash on your nose and cheeks, swollen glands, alterations in urine output, bloody or pink urine, dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin), signs of infection (like fever, chills, or a persistent sore throat), or easy bruising/bleeding. The Hydrochlorothiazide in this medication might lead to excessive fluid loss (dehydration) or depletion of salts/minerals. If you experience any of the following serious symptoms of dehydration or loss of salts/minerals, contact your doctor without delay: severe thirst, dry mouth, muscle cramps or weakness, irregular heartbeat, unusual drowsiness, significant decrease in urine output, fainting, confusion, or seizures.
